According to Turkish law, housing can be transferred in this way. But it is important for foreign property owners to understand that this process will be fully regulated by local legislation.

How to transfer property by inheritance in Turkey?

In order for the housing to be passed on to the heirs, it is necessary to take care of drawing up a will. It must fully comply with the requirements of Turkish law. If any inconsistencies are found in the document, it may be invalidated.

There are three types of wills:

  • Official, certified by the judge. It must be signed by two witnesses.
  • Handwritten. Drawn up directly by the person who wishes to transfer the property. Such a document can be stored in a civil court or at a notary.
  • Oral. In this case, two witnesses must be present, who subsequently draw up the document, and also transfer it to the appropriate authorities.

Any foreign citizen can transfer property by inheritance in Turkey. There are only two restrictions - one must be over 15 years old and not have any mental disorders.
