Unique architectural ensemble of the construction of XIV-XVIII centuries. The one-of-a kind monument in Latvia, preserved to this day. The architectural ensemble of the estate is recognized by historians as one of the most beautiful in Latvia today. In the nineteenth century, served as the residence of Governor of the Kurzeme region, Paul von Hans. Fully authentic with original interior decoration of the main building, including historical furnishings, paintings and a library. The ensemble includes a dozen buildings and an area of 40.66 hectares. On the territory of the estate there is a well-preserved forest park area with tuva, beech, chestnut and oak alleys, a pond and a natural underground source of crystal clear water, as well as the only private stadium in Latvia with the total area of 2 hectares. Due to the marvelous beauty of its landscape, the surroundings of the estate are unofficially referred to as "Kurland Switzerland". Under the castle are ancient underground passages with the total length of three kilometers.
There are 4 ready-made projects for the further use of the estate, including a health-improving, tourist or sports centers. Funds from EU Structural Funds can be used to implement projects.
