The demand for “green” buildings has been increasing steadily over the last years. Reducing CO2 emissions from buildings is especially relevant. The UK is ready to allocate $5.4 billion for the implementation of this program.
How will the money be allocated?
Payments will be provided:
- in the form of grants to those homeowners who change their old gas boilers for new alternatives with high environmental performance;
- as financial aid to decarbonise public buildings and under-income households.
It is also planned to reduce the price of electricity, which stimulates citizens to switch to this type of energy instead of gas.
