Suburban real estate in France has become even more popular

Rural areas of France observe an increase in the demand for houses and villas, and 2020 is a record year. During the year, almost 112 thousand suburban real estate objects were sold in the country. Moreover, the buyers were not farmers, as it was previously, but residents of large cities, including native Parisians.

The main reasons for the growth in demand for suburban housing were the pandemic and tough quarantine restrictions faced by residents of large cities. Many of them decided to get rid of their real estate in large cities and move out of town. In addition, such an opportunity was beneficial for employees of large companies, business organizations, etc., who were previously tied to the office. Having switched to remote work some of them went to the suburbs, wishing to purchase comfortable housing.

Current situation in France

The demand for suburban housing in France remains stable. Average prices for such objects are:

• the most budget-friendly options for houses can be bought at a price of about 200 thousand euros;
• a small villa can be purchased for 1-1.5 million euros;
• luxury villas of about 1000 sq.m. cost up to 40 million euros;
• price of castles and mansions reaches 100 million euros.

It should be noted that prices are largely influenced by the region in which the housing is located. If it is a coastal area, then the cost can be quite high, even if the area of ​​the house is about 100 square meters. At the same time, objects of the same size can be bought much cheaper if you choose a less popular region.
