Number of new buildings in the United States in August increased by 3.9%

The number of new buildings, the construction of which began in August this year, amounted to 1615 million objects. This is more than 50 thousand more than experts predicted.

Such a rapid increase is due to an increase in demand for new homes among local and foreign investors - in August 2021, 17.4% more apartments in new buildings were sold than in the same period a year earlier.
As for the number of building permits issued, this indicator also increased above the expected level:
- rose by 6% compared to July data;
- amounted to 1.728 million (1.6 million was expected).
Such a leap indicates that the country's economy is developing at a rapid pace, showing a qualitative recovery after a tough quarantine period.
