Great Britain decided to allocate special grading to other countries, based on which special restrictions might apply. This will be applied to foreigners and British citizens too. Depending on the situation with the coronavirus in certain territories, they will be assigned a special color - red, yellow or green. Rules for entering the UK from countries with different “colors” will vary. Such restrictions will allow the resumption of the possibility of visiting the country by foreigners, as well as open up tourist destinations for the British themselves.
When is the program going to be launched?
Despite the fact that travel agencies and hotel owners insist on the need to open borders for free entry before the summer season, country's authorities plan to do this only in the middle of summer. Until that moment, all visitors will be required to undergo quarantine isolation.
According to the authorities, the South African strain of the virus might pose danger to the country. If imported by tourists, a new wave of infections could break out in the UK. The following countries also fall into the red zone:
Tourists who come from these regions will be forced to undergo quarantine.
For those who come from the green zone, no restrictions will be applied. If a tourist comes from the yellow zone then a mixed entry procedure will apply, depending on the current situation with the spread of coronavirus in the country from which he arrived.
At the moment the question of introducing "color" coding of countries remains open. Also, the country's government has not made an affirmative decision on the introduction of vaccination passports. The obstacle to this is the likelihood of discrimination against part of the population of the state who refuse to be vaccinated.
At the moment, negotiations are underway to create a special certificate that will allow citizens of the European Union to move freely within its territory, providing data on vaccination.
