Last month of work of the passport program of Montenegro

As the government of Montenegro announced earlier, the passport program will stop working as early as January 1, 2022. It provides for the possibility of obtaining citizenship by investing in real estate. Until December 31, 2021, buyers of housing or commercial properties can still apply for a passport of a citizen of Montenegro. However, one will have to contact the developer earlier - in early or mid-December.

Features of the program

The passport program allows investors to obtain Montenegrin citizenship by purchasing real estate in the country for a certain amount:

• for the northern regions - from 250 thousand euros;
• for the southern regions - from 450 thousand euros.

Such a difference in figures is due to the fact that when the program was launched, the government of the country set a goal to develop the north. During its operation, the demand for real estate in Montenegro was increased by 30%.
