Fewer foreigners who want to buy property on the Spanish coast

In the first half of 2021, the number of foreigners buying or renting housing on the coasts of Spain decreased by 7.7% compared to the same period last year. The number was 11.3% of the total number of buyers. At the same time, like in the previous years the most active are investors from Germany, Great Britain and France.

Which regions are more popular?

Speaking about the regions that are popular among investors from these countries, we can highlight the following:

• Germans most often buy and rent housing on the Valencian coast, Mallorca and both archipelagos, in the municipalities of Lejon and Getxo, where prices vary between 3.1-3.3 thousand euros per sq.m.;
• the British are interested in such regions as La Coruña, Santander and Comillas, as well as Getxo and Barakaldo (Northern Province of Spain);
• the French choose the cities of San Sebastian and Zaraus, as well as Menorca.

Among the active buyers are also citizens of the United States, Italy and Switzerland.
