Canada plans to temporarily ban the sale of housing to foreign investors

Over the last few years the demand for Canadian real estate has increased. At the same time, objects were in demand not only in big cities, but also in smaller ones.
Over the last few years the demand for Canadian real estate has increased. At the same time, objects were in demand not only in big cities, but also in smaller ones. In order to resolve the issue and make housing more affordable for the local population, the government of the country proposed the following initiative:
- foreign buyers will temporarily not be able to purchase real estate in Canada;
- it will be possible to buy only objects intended for recreation.
It is not yet known if and when the decision will take effect.
